Reception at the Loft

Okay chicks-

Hope you are all doing well!!  It feels like its been a million years since I emailed about the wedding.

We have booked our reception site!!  Still working on the ceremony, but the cocktail reception and dinner will be at The Loft downtown.  Their website is www.loftbarandbistro.com.  Our date is October 17th.  I will let you know details as we go along.

I was thinking of getting a room at the Fairmont the night before so we can all stay together the night before and get ready together on Saturday, let me know what you think.  Also I have decided that I will leave hair and makeup up to you guys as well.  Christina's hair lady said she will come to the hotel on Saturday to do everyone's hair if you want to use her.   She is charging $55 and It is completely optional but please let me know if you would like to use her so we can let her know ahead of time what to expect. 

As for bridesmaid dress shopping, its looking like Saturday, March 7th will probably be best.   Most of these bridal shops require appointments so I better get on that!

Picture/Personal Info

Hey ladies

I hope you are all doing well! Just wanted to give an update. I have been working on the website and its almost finished! In about a week it should be final, just hard to find time to do this with work during the day and the baby after work! As soon as it is complete (or at least presentable) I will email the link to you.

I know it feels like homework so don't worry about the description of yourself for now. I have decided to use a different website so I won't need all that info until it gets closer to the wedding, so we can use it in the programs. I do still need pics of everyone except Aundrea and Denise, or just let me know if you want me to use one of you that I already have. Also there is a section on the website for a group picture of us so I would like to take one at the engagement party since I don't know when else we will all be together any time soon.

Just so I stay organized, (and so I can avoid telling you guys the same thing 40 times and annoying the hell out of you) I am using a blog to keep track of everything until the website is up and running. The blog address is dustinandlorraine.blogspot.com

Hey girls,

How are you all doing today?  Thanks so much to those of you that responded to my email last week.  Just waiting for a couple more :)

So busy these days I am planning my wedding on my lunch break lol.  Anyway I am working on the website and I need a recent picture of you.  The picture can be whatever you want, goofy, formal, whatever, as long as its only you in it...If you can, try to email it to me by next week.  Or I can try to dig one up but I don't know how recent it will be!

My girls!

Hello ladies!

First of all, thank you all so much for agreeing to be a part of my special day! I wanted to send out a communication to let you know the basics for now. I will let yo know more as planning progresses. Let me start out by saying that if I ever become a bridezilla, you have permission to slap me...and I will be thankful for it. I am going to try my best to keep things easy and simple whenever possible, but I also want to keep you all involved and I will always consider any suggestions and ideas, and welcome feedback, both positive and negative.

I know we are all busy in our own lives so I decided that email was the best way for us all to stay in the loop for now until we get closer to the date. I just wanted to give you some details that you may need to know.

Our engagement party will be in about a month and a half, on October 18th at our house. Please don't bring a gift! Its going to be a simple dinner so everyone can relax and the two families can get to know each other. I would love it if you all can be there if possible. Invitations went out early this week so you should be getting them soon if you haven't already. As for our wedding, we haven't booked the reception site yet but we have a tentative date set for Saturday, October 17th, 2009.

Originally I was going to have 8 bridesmaids but I decided to narrow it down to the 5 of you that mean the most to me. Rachel, Katera, Denise, Christina and Aundrea. If you can take a moment to write something about yourself, I would love to use the information on our wedding website (which is under construction) and/or our programs at the wedding. It doesn't have to be much, just a small paragraph (where you grew up, favorite hobbies or a short story about how we met) is fine.

The wedding colors will be Deep Teal and Burnt Orange. We sort of have a dandelion theme going on which is along the lines of 'making a wish'. Not sure how we will fully tie that in yet. Also you will be glad to know that I have decided to not be a dress Nazi. I want them to be teal but I am okay with letting you girls pick out your own dress style. We will talk more on that later.

Lastly I would like to say that I am so thankful to have each and every one of you in my life. You mean so much to me, I couldn't have asked for better friends!
